Alice Sayo has won an international award from IREX for her Nasaruni Academy for girls in Kenya. The program started with lessons held under a tree and has now expanded to an Academy teaching 104 girls.
Without this school, these girls would not have received an education. This education is critical for the future of these girls, because the Maasai still practice female genital mutilation and early marriage for girls. Alice will share the story of how this school started and the impact it is having in the Masai community.
