During the month of October the Shenandoah County Library will celebrate National Archives Month. This is a time to commemorate the work of repositories like our own Truban Archives and those staff members and volunteers who provide access to the collections they hold. 

To help celebrate, we will be hosting and participating in a series of local, regional, and national archival events including:

  •  Ask An Archivist Day, October 13th on Twitter is a international event where a variety of Archivist work to answer your questions about what they do and their holdings via social media.
  •  Truban Archives Live, Noon-1:00PM on October 13th. This Facebook event will be a one hour live session where Archivist Zachary Hottel will discuss the role of the Truban Archives and answer questions about its collection.
  •  Shenandoah Valley Archives Fair, 11:00AM, October 20. This virtual event will feature 10 archivist from the Shenandoah Valley who will share information about their collections, how you can access them, and answer questions from attendees.   •  The Truban Archives and the Community, Noon-1:00PM on October 27. During this virtual event, Archivist Zachary Hottel will conduct a program about the Truban Archives, its collection, and how it helps tie our communities together.
